Islamic State on Wednesday published photographs of nine extremists whom it says carried out the terror attacks in Paris, including two Iraqis.
According to the SITE monitoring organization, the two Iraqis had not previously been linked to the attacks in which 130 people were killed.
The two assailants were part of a photo montage with the headline “Just terror” in ISIL’s online magazine, Dabiq. They were identified as “Ukashah al Iraqi” (Ukashah the Iraqi) and “Ali al Iraqi” (Ali the Iraqi).
Thierry Werts of the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office said investigators “didn’t know them at all,” according to ABC News.
Two of the suicide bombers who attacked the Stade de France have yet to be formally identified. They were carrying Syrian passports.
The two Iraqis were pictured alongside the likes of Abdelhamid Abaaoud, believed to the mastermind behind the attacks, and eight other men in battle fatigues. Salah Abdeslam, wanted in connection with the attacks, was not pictured.
